En février 1938, Normandie quitte l’Atlantique nord pour une croisière tropicale inédite vers les Caraïbes et le Brésil, embarquant un millier de privilégiés. Accueilli en triomphe à Rio, il devient l’incarnation d’une France républicaine rayonnante.

France, Queen Mary 2, Harmony of the Seas… many legendary ocean liners were built in Saint-Nazaire. The Shipyard tour immerses you into an outstanding industrial adventure. Escal’Atlantic, the Ocean Liner Experience

Escal’Atlantic takes you on a transatlantic journey, as though you embarked on an ocean liner. Immerse yourself in the world of legendary liners, walking in the footsteps of yesterday’s travellers: decks, cabins, corridors… Be surprised on every deck, behind every door: you will learn about the history of the transatlantic vessels, how life and work onboard looked like, thanks to interactive devices and games. Admire some 200 artefacts stemming from legendary cruise ships: a chandelier with pure lines from France (1962), the silverware of Normandie (1935)… Self-guided tour, approximately 1½ hours. Écomusée

The heritage museum Écomusée deals with the industrial and maritime history of Saint-Nazaire. It is an invitation to travel through time, to discover how the city’s privileged location between the Loire River and the Atlantic Ocean has shaped its destiny. Collections, documents and scale models bear witness to the city’s extraodinary history. Self-guided tour, approximately 45 minutes. Booking essential.

Ce concert conté, porté par 4 musiciens riches d'expériences et de cultures différentes, vous embarque dans un voyage musical poétiquement engagé. Au fil de l'eau, les destins se croisent, mettent en perspective et questionnent face à l'oppression et à la domination.

The massive submarine base, built as a defensive fortress by the German army during World War II, still dominates the harbour site today. The submarine pens are now home to tourist and cultural venues. Take a guided tour and uncover the mysteries of this huge monument!
